About the Journal

TOP20 articles of "Philosophical Education"

To celebrate nearly 40 years of continuous publication and to promote the significant scholarly contribution of its authors, the Editorial Team of the bi-annual journal "Philosophical Education" is privileged to present 20 of the most quoted and influential articles republished in English from its archives. This special selection reflects the rich diversity of philosophical inquiry covered by the journal, including both classic philosophical themes and interdisciplinary studies linking philosophy with areas such as education, religious studies or language theory.

The articles touch on key issues like Roman Ingarden's theory of intentionality, the concept of lying, the philosophical identity of Władysław Tatarkiewicz, as well as reflections on Leszek Kołakowski’s religious thought, Kant’s notions of will and freedom, and the famous Gettier problem. The selection also includes historical studies on the confrontation between the Lvov-Warsaw School and Marxism, reflections on embodied phenomenology, the moral meaning of tolerance, the philosophy of the university, and comparative analyses of Stoicism and Zen Buddhism.

All 20 articles are hereby made freely available online, providing broad access to essential works from the Polish philosophical tradition and contributing to greater visibility of Polish philosophy worldwide.
